Do you follow-up with no shows when it comes to scheduled calls?

Yes, follow-up is real important.

But I can't shake the idea/feeling that if someone doesn't feel committing to an appointment is important to them after they've set the time, why would it be worth tracking them down later? Isn't this being a bit clingy? And doesn't it mean I'm willing to work with people who aren't professional?
Yet I here people talk about how follow up is important.Need some insight here.
