I have put all of my efforts this year into expanding my business and it has finally paid off and I have been enjoying a ridiculously free work schedule and traveling for most of the year. My business is somewhat seasonal, and while I could definitely expand and grow this business more, that was what I had done in my 20's and was a huge mistake! I have also thought about just riding this business as-is for another year while traveling, but to be honest I am not sure if I can spend the next few months doing nothing. I also see a lot of potential issues for my current business in the future--such as the majority of my money is tied up in inventory that is not easily liquidable, any sort of accident or disability would leave me somewhat broke, my business is not really sale-able ( if I needed to quickly liquidate, I likely could sell off everything to a current competitor for about a 1/4 of my investment, which is not at all the same as when I once sold a business for cost of inventory, equipment and goodwill!).
So, I have some cash and do not have to do any work with my current business until February. I could re-invest my cash into this business, but instead want to explore other business ideas. However, I have a very free schedule and do not want any sort of business that will become a "Prison", as the business that I owned from 19-31 was. My biggest mistake during those years was to put all of my eggs into one basket and ended up losing nearly everything.
