How does a young entrepreneur make money to start a successful business?

Of course there is the option of investors, but they can be difficult to find sometimes.

So say I’m passionate about restaurants and I would like to start my own. How do I raise the funds to start it? Let’s say investors are not an option and I will have to look at other ways I can fund my project. Would I just have to work a 9-5 job and save enough money, or is there a better way of doing it?
