Hey everybody. I run my own business as a sole proprietor, and use Thumbtack to get me leads for some of the services I can offer.
As much as it pains me to admit it, I don't have business insurance. Luckily everything is going good so far, but I definitely want to get on board with insurance so that I don't screw myself and so I can focus on branching out.
You see, there are a TON of people on Thumbtack in my area looking for iPhone repair. While I may have experience doing iPhone repairs, if I rip or damage a home button, that means no more touch ID. Most customers wouldn't like this, and some may even sue!
I don't intentionally plan on damaging phones of course, but I really want to win more sales and make more money by being able to offer phone repair. Heck, I need insurance regardless because I do computer repair. People are literally giving me their devices with their data on it and fortunately I've been lucky so far. But I need a solution in the event people get angry and all.
How do I shop for business insurance and what do I need to look for, given I'm in the service industry?
