A buddy and I are planning to build and sell "starter" sites. We suspect there's a lot of people out there who have an idea and want a web app but have no idea how to get going. Sure there's WordPress but by the time you install a bunch of different add-ons, there's no real guarantee they will all play nice together.
These "starter" sites will come prepackaged with features like:
- member registration (with social sign up)
- member profiles
- member posts (with images, comments, description, etc)
- favorites / likes
- tagging / hashtags
- following
- search
The design will be a custom and would work on desktop and mobile.
We've worked this idea out where it will require next to no set up on the customers part. They change their DNS info to point to the right place, they get the keys to the site (admin creds) and are on their way to building their empire with a fully functional web app with popular features that are desirable today.
What are your thoughts on a service like that?
