My ecommerce website was temporarily paused for 3 weeks whilst we prepared for a re-launch - We had just a password page collecting emails. When we reopened the site, I noticed our organic traffic drop massively so I checked our rankings and we wasn't on the first page for many of our search terms like we was before the website was paused - we now found ourselves on the 2nd and sometimes third page for our search terms!
Also, One of my partners did 'weeks of research using spyfu' and thought we should change our SEO for 'higher search page rankings' but I have since changed it back.
The reason I ask is because the partner is claiming that the SEO dropped not because he changed our SEO for most Product and Page titles/descriptions but because we went offline for 3 weeks.
Both of these 'bright ideas' were his -
If we were to completely revert to our old search terms, titles and descriptions will we go back to where we were ranked previously? Also, is there a website that lets you see the history of certain search terms - I want to see how bad it really was before and after.
