We are so fortunate to live in a world where we can use the internet to make money within all of our businesses. There are so many different ways you can build your own brand and make money in your business. Sometimes you can even be making money while you sleep!
Although there isn’t a “quick fix” to earning money online, fortunately, there are lots of different avenues you can explore to begin to make money within your business.
Whether you’re looking to start earning money in your business or you’re looking to produce additional income streams to make your brand even more profitable, I’m sharing just few ways you can make money.
Here are my top 10 ways to make money online today
1 – Create a course: Think of something which you are passionate to share and build a short course. You can stand in front of the camera, record a PowerPoint presentation or simply provide information for your students to read. When creating a course keep it simple, focus on one aspect of your niche – You can always create more courses as your business grows.
2 – Coach your audience: No matter what stage your business is at, you will always be a step or two ahead of other people. If you can help someone, offer some online coaching where you chat via a video conferencing website such as Zoom or Google Hangouts. You might be surprised how sharing a little bit of your knowledge can have a huge impact on someone else.
3 – Create a digital product: Digital products are easy to create and set up on most websites. You can share some knowledge and information via e-books, printables or even videos. This is your opportunity to help your community out and sell something they will love.
4 – Create a physical product: A physical product is a little bit more complex to bring to market than a digital one but this is what can make it even more rewarding. When developing your physical product think about the following questions. Is there a gap in the market? Do people want to feel like they belong to your community? What is your audience asking for? All of these questions will help you to decide on the dream product for your audience and bring it to market!
5 – Affiliate Marketing: Do you have a favourite brand which you’re always recommending? See if they offer an affiliate program. An affiliate program means you share their product via a link created for you, then if anyone uses your link to make a purchase you receive a small commission. A great place to start with this is Amazon Associates. If you love a product and are recommending it anyway, you may as well get paid for it.
6 – Sponsored Posts: These give you the opportunity for another business to pay you to feature them on your blog or social media. Many brands are looking for new content creators to get their products in front of a new audience. Each sponsored post works differently, some brands may want to see your content before you post it, others will give you full editorial control and you can also negotiate where you will share the content such as on your blog, in a video or on social media. When considering a brand to feature ensure it’s something you love as it’s always important to keep your integrity with your audience. Also, remember to always use “ad” on any content which has a paid element.
7 – Advertising: If you have a website which is getting a good amount of traffic each month then you could add advertising to your site. Here, you set the rates and a brand will have an advert on your website for as long as you agree. Before reaching out to any brands I would recommend putting together a rates sheet which includes your prices and stats. Much like sponsored posts, you can reach out to brands to invite them to advertise on your website.
8 – Your Services: What are your skills and can you offer them to your audience? People are often looking for services to help them with their own businesses, whether you can offer graphic design, blogging, social media management or something else. As someone building your own brand, you will have picked up a large number of skills which you can offer to other people.
9 – A Membership Site: Create a membership site for your business niche. Each month, you will receive residual income and you can share new content within that month. This works as a digital offering such as the Female Entrepreneur Associations Members Club where each month Carrie invites a guest expert to train her members on different topics.
10 – Launch a YouTube Channel: YouTube is the third most-visited site in the world and as it is a search engine it is a great platform to be discovered as you educate and entertain your audience. Once you’re able to hit their 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of view time in the past 12 months you can start to build your income through its advertising program.
There has never been a better time than now to start earning money online, whether you are just starting out on your business journey or you’re ready to diversify your income stream.
Which new revenue stream are you going to work on first?
