tl;dr - Newb can't for the life of him figure out why his FB ads aren't serving at all.
Seeking genius or even Hail Marys from Facebook Ad ninjas - or anyone - apologies in advance if this is too newbish: I opened a new Facebook Ad account for an ecommerce business, naively thinking I could mock up an ad and an audience, give them a credit card, hit 'publish' and watch the revenue come gushing in. (j/k on that last.)
But instead I get... nothing. Not 'nothing' as in 'nobody's interested' but literally zero ads served, zero impressions, no relevance score, nada, zilch - and zero money spent.
I've tried tweaking every which way: lifetime budget, daily budgets, raising and lowering budgets, broad audience of 1M, focused tiny audience, different ad objectives, pay by the CPC, impression, landing page visit, etc. And I always give the new tries a few days to settle in, not switching it up every 20 minutes. I'm currently sitting with a plain vanilla single image ad targeted at a modest-sized (I think?) audience of 48,000, with a $100/day budget.
All lights seem green: I ran my ads (just two) through that 20% text tool and FB said 'thumbs up, no problems,' the ads are always approved within an hour or so, my account seems solid, credit card is legit, account spend limit is ample, blah blah blah.
My theories FWIW are: it's something idiotic I'm doing or not doing; that the holiday season is so expensive that my piddling (?) $100/day is getting Kruegered every time it goes into the auction arena; or FB doesn't let a brand new account run free right off the bat, but they don't want to use their words.
Any thoughts, remedial or longshot? Wouldn't bug you folks if I hadn't Googled myself out already... and there doesn't seem to be any way to contact FB directly anymore - or I haven't found it anyway.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
