Hey guys. I have worked with websites for a while and recently decided to set up my own local site, firstly as a bit of a sideline to get free stuff in return for reviews, but it accidentally became quite a good earner for me. I have set up a directory type thing where people pay for membership and listings. Membership isn't just adding them to the website, I actively promote them on Facebook too and regularly give advice and send them leads. I am good at getting the word out there and it has gone really well so far.
I have now bought 8 domains and plan to run them myself as a little network. I'll probably need some help eventually but I've worked out that 8 is kind of manageable.
Problem with that is, there are a lot more than 8 places in my country that can do this thing - I am focusing on towns/cities with a population of over 100,000 but below 500,000.
I started my 2nd site this week and have built a template that I can now sell on that is ready made to start earning money. I have a couple of ideas how to go about this and was wondering if you guys with better sales experience could help me out.
- Just sell the template and change their branding according to where it is. This is the least amount of work but probably for the least amount of money.
- Set up in a different place, work for around a month or so and actually bring in some income first - how much would I be able to sell for as a multiple of the profit it makes in 2 months?
- Rental - rent the site out for a reasonable amount, making it one of the terms that they are part of my network and have to keep the branding?
I think if I set up just 8 sites it will work well, but let's say I have a network of 20-30, the opportunities there are much more.
Thanks for reading anyway guys. Hope yall have a good day
