Fulfillment services: Learn to create my own designs or outsource?

Hi guys,

I am extremely intrigued by fulfillment services such as Redbubble and Merch by Amazon, and I was wondering how I should go about this.

I hear its much better to focus on quantity over quality, and I have zero experience with designing or using photoshop etc. whatsoever. I was wondering if it's viable to pay around $3-4 per design from websites like fivver (this seems to be the going rate), and just upload those to rebubble and hope they passively sell?

Or would it be better for me to take the time learning how to design the shirts myself? Thinking in terms of opportunity cost, at this point in time it seems better to go with outsourcing but I'm not sure.
