I am working on a product idea but before I dive too much into it I want to come up with 3 different sales channels that would be likely to work. I'm not looking to test these right now but am looking to validate I have multiple methods of generating sales past directly contacting businesses who would buy my product.
A bit about what I plan to build, it will be a website builder with some specific stuff targeted towards the marine industry, not boat makers but marinas, boat sales places, rental companies ect.
So far the methods I have come up with are:
- direct sales
- google ads
Past those I am not very sure what might work, yes I know testing is the best way of knowing but got to know what to test, I know say intragram ads are worthless to me as my target customer is not there in large enough numbers to matter.
Linkedin is not a solid idea but more so I figured professional people are on there and business owners would be as well and they are the decision makers I am after.
Direct sales is expensive and takes a lot of time per customer with an expected gross revenue per customer not being high enough to support sales staff short term. I know that once I get customers that they likely will stay long term because of the nature of the product but because of the cost of hiring people to do sales and then how much I expect to make off a customer in the first year I would be running a loss for years potentially.
Google ads seem the most promising and I know certain keywords that will work because of a closely related business of mine using certain ones that have some cross over.
What methods should I be looking into and seeing if they are potentially good matches?
