Hey everyone, a while ago I tried to get into Amazon FBA by selling "Scratch off World Maps". Using the software Jungle Scout I saw the product had high demand and low competition. I got my product sample and liked the quality so I ordered 500 units. There was a delay in the shipping from China to the Amazon warehouses, and I sent a unit to my photographer after they arrived at the FBA warehouses. These two things had enough delay for the product to start drifting into the moderate-high competitive zone.
I knew this would be more challenging now as there's more competition and I'm new to FBA, but everything was already in motion so I tried my best. I've had some experience with Facebook/Instagram advertising, and a lot of experience with influencer marketing. I watched hours upon hours of videos on advertising via Amazon PPC, Google ads, Facebook/Instagram ads, etc. etc. and tried campaigns on Facebook and Instagram to little success. I've learned the hard way that targeting travelers with this product on those platforms doesn't work the best as this product doesn't solve any problems or prevent any pain points. My Amazon PPC campaigns were doing ok but were just a little below breaking even so I couldn't keep those going for long.
I tried to run a Google campaign but it didn't let me run traffic directly to my Amazon listing due to it being too similar to other advertisers. I just recently created a very basic website to be a simple landing page from my Google ads: https://buyscratchoffmap.com/ (I am posting this for feedback purposes only, I am not expecting or intending to financially gain from posting here). The beach is meant to be a video, however it sometimes doesn't play for some people. I'm currently looking into this problem. My goal for the website was to be simple and get it live as soon as possible to take advantage of Q4. I am currently running Google ads and most keywords have a quality score of 3/10 - 5/10 and have been running for a day or two: http://prntscr.com/lijghp.
I am now also running a couple Amazon PPC campaigns: http://prntscr.com/lijgq2. I'm monitoring these closely to cut any keywords that are not getting any clicks after many impressions. The automatic campaign is a $20 daily budget with a $0.25 max CPC. I watched a YouTube video about doing this a while ago, while it won't get me many clicks, it will get me cheap ones when it does. The product targeting and keyword targeting campaign are fairly obvious: Simply targeting similar products and expected keyword searches.
So far I've had 1 person purchase from my Google ads and website, and 0 purchases from my Amazon PPC campaigns. I have had these running only 1-2 days but funds are limited so I'm wanting to optimize as best as I can as fast as I can. That's why I'm reaching out to this community for help. What direction should I go in to at least break even from the remaining 451 maps I have in stock?
Thank you for reading!
