Anyone have a good strategy on this? I have lost every contested credit card charge. Every fucking one. I run a program. Let's call it a daycare center (as a parallel example). I charge a $500 deposit to hold your spot. In the application it CLEARLY states before you hit "submit" on your card that "the $500 is a deposit to hold a space, and therefore not refundable. I've never been able to keep these when someone disputes it. They just say, "Well I didn't send me kid so I want the deposit back."
Some charge backs border on the ridiculous. You all are going to think I made this up but hand to God, swear on the bible this happened. I had a mom complain "There was a retarded child on your website, and I didn't know retarded kids would be at the day care. I want a full refund." I'm already out of pocket for food, employee time, and so on. This kid went zip lining, etc and I paid for all of that. No complaints until the kid got back home.
And here is the thing, not that it matters at all. The kid on the website was MY KID. And he 100% is not retarded (although his sister may disagree). In fact he qualified for the gifted program in our county with a 130 IQ. He just used to wear thick glasses before he got contacts and we was wearing sports goggles so she thought he "looked retarded." Either way, the appearance of someone on your website does not entitle you to a refund. I mean, that's like me going to Wal-Mart, buying a flat screen TV, keeping it, then contesting the charge because the greater was in a wheelchair.
I'm so fucking pissed this lady got a 100% refund. It's out of control. How can I better stop charge backs? I'm considering saying no cards anymore.
