Any Experience with ROBS (Rollovers as Business Startups)?

I'm considering (but not committed nor required to) a Rollover as Business Startup (ROBS). For those unfamiliar, my C-Corp would create a 401(k) plan and allow for employees (like myself) to purchase shares in the company. I'd be able to roll my other retirement accounts (401(k), IRAs) into my company's 401(k) plan and then purchase shares. There are a lot of dangers in going this route, such as stepping afoul of IRS rules regarding these plans; but, it's legal and allowable.

There's a couple companies that specialize in ROBS: Benetrends and Guidant. By chance, does anyone here have experience with either of these companies? Their costs for service appear to be similar, so perhaps there's other factors for which one is preferred? Maybe other companies should be considered?

If you're worried that I'm potentially putting my retirement at risk: relax. I've got good income for life via military retirement benefits, and my retirement accounts hold about half as much as my normal brokerage account. Liquidating assets in my brokerage account would incur capital gains taxes whereas using ROBS would sidestep that issue. Mostly, I just want to contact one company that specializes in this service, and I'll have my other experts help in the evaluation on whether it's a good idea or not based upon what gets proposed.
