I've noticed a few of these spring up now and the CPMs on advertising seem to be ridiculous.
I'm from the UK, and for example have seen a local company (let's say cleaning), will pay £200 per month for a small banner on a site that probably does less than 100k views.
Made me think about doing one for my local town but would love a discussion on the topic if anyone's had prior experience?
