I've allocated some money for professional development next year - courses, workshops, conferences, etc. One thing I've been considering is attending a coding bootcamp...but I have no plans to get a job as a web developer.
My background is in journalism and my specialty in the world of entrepreneurship is content and marketing. I make good money as a full-time freelancer, but I'm ready to start creating my own stuff. I'm currently working on launching a website and a podcast. I like to learn new things, coding is interesting to me, and I figured it might be useful as I endeavor to make more things on the internet. Plenty of my ideas would require a developer, but I figured a coding bootcamp might get me to the point where I can create MVPs and then hire developers later on once I figure out if my idea is actually profitable. I know it's not going to get me to the point where I can create complex apps...but again, I also don't have any interest in working as a developer. Just a skill that I thought might be useful. The programs I'm looking at are all around $5-6k and in Latin America/Asia. So not a HUGE investment but a decent chunk of change that could perhaps be better used elsewhere.
TLDR: What do you think - go to a coding bootcamp just to learn a new skill that might be kinda useful in my entrepreneurial endeavors? Or is that a waste of money that could be better spent on a different skill?
